Custom PVC Extrusion
Since its founding in 1987, C & S Plastics has been a major producer of high quality, solid wall Furniture Grade PVC pipe. Original products were targeted toward builders of outdoor furnishings, but the 21st century has brought the company to a higher level of quality and customer satisfaction. Since the firm changed hands in 2005, from Father to Son, C&S Plastics has expanded its production capability far beyond the initial six sizes and four colors of patio furniture pipe, to an ever expanding line of colors, diameters, lengths, and wall thicknesses.
Where the extrusion department once produced pipe in six sizes (all schedule 40 wall thickness) and four colors, in standard ten foot lengths, we are able to produce pipe from ¼” to 2 ½ “ standard pipe diameters, as well as special diameters to meet customer needs. We can match and reproduce any color of the spectrum, including metallics. Through the use of a computer-controlled servo saw, we are able to cut pieces in line with a length tolerance of less than .030” our twin-screw extruders process powdered PVC resins in-house, we are also available to add materials for improved impact strength, oxidation resistance, and anti-bacterial properties.
Our extrusion technicians have an average of 9 years experience with C & S Plastics, giving us a stable, consistent workforce that understands our processes and machinery, and is able to develop new products based on strong knowledge of what our extruders can produce. Turn- around times between products is brief, with a tooling change usually taking under two hours. Color changes between materials are normally performed in a matter of minutes, and length changes can be programmed in ten seconds. It is quite common to produce five to ten different products in one day: different colors, different diameters, different wall thickness, and different lengths. We are also capable of producing pipe with specified inner and outer diameters, such as might be used for conveyor rollers and telescoping parts, with a run-out tolerance of under .005”, and a concentricity of under .008”.
Outer diameter tolerance is + .001″. Our pipe is normally palletized in-line, reducing the need for further handling. Pipe is blown out to remove san dust and PVC shavings, and burrs are removed so that the product is customer ready. Shorter lengths are neatly and tightly stacked in boxes to reduce scratches in transit.
We are capable of producing pipe of any diameter between .625” and 2.875” (actual diameter), and with wall thicknesses between .050” and .300”. With C&S Plastics, anything is possible.
